  • forums / discussion group
  • polls and voting
  • feature articles
  • shopping cart
  • wiki / collaborative documentation
  • listserv
  • membership mailings
  • rss / subscription
  • interactive spreadsheets / data types
• Decide how it is to be administered
  • who can "join" the site
  • can non-joiners participate in any way?
    • comments, polls, forums
  • how will joiners be authenticated
    • open to anyone
    • authenticated by email
