Goal
This term you will form teams to create a simple informational website with links, images and basic styling. You will acquire these skills along the way:
- ability to use (X)HTML to create compliant web site
- ability to use basic CSS to apply simple styles to the web content
- ability to do basic image processing to appropriately size images
- ability to use text editor and Dreamweaver to develop and edit the site
- ability to test your web site for compliance
- ability to transfer your site to a web server
You will also become comfortable with these areas of knowledge:
- Basic concept of how web servers work
- Basic modern terminology of web technology
- HTML and CSS languages including how to use common references
- Introduction to Information Design and navigation
- Introductions to good practices for web development
Assessment
You will be graded both on your web site and your familiarity with the material. Your website will be graded on both content and style. An extra credit project will be available.
