Goal
This term you will build on the skills you learned last term to create your own template-driven web site that incorporates some more advanced features while cementing the knowledge you acquired last term. Whereas last term we emphasized web language and the web page, this term we will be moving to full web-site development and management. This will incorporate the following new areas of knowledge:
- Solidifying (X)HTML constructs and CSS styling
- Template development
- Web forms (with email posting)
- More advanced media - image maps; video and sound clips
- Compliance testing for HTML and CSS
- Accessibility testing
- A look at Javascript and some JQuery examples
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Introduction to RSS and podcasting
This term we will be using Dreamweaver extensively in class along with browser toolbars for development testing.
Assessment
You will be graded both on your web site and your familiarity with the material. Your web site will be graded on both content and style.

- Pick a specific topic for your site and start designing a layout on paper
Class 2-2 (Jan 28)

- Read chapter 13 and Appendix C (Accessibility)
- Review accessibility sites:
- Finalize your primary site layout and start HTML/CSS for blank page of site
- Create navigation for your site as an include file
- Create the HTML for a simple Form for you website. You can add it to your template later, just get the form written in html for now.
- Make sure your recent work to date is up on the class site
Class 2-3 (Feb 4)
- Adding Email Posting to Forms

- Read Chapter 12
- Finish the form for your site and get emailer workingl.
- Finalize Look and Feel of site with HTML and CSS and create template for it
